Rachel Hartshorn

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist practicing in Utah (telehealth only), Idaho (telehealth only) and Nevada (in person). I graduated with my Master’s degree from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

I am EMDR trained, and very passionate about helping individuals find healing after trauma and various life-struggles they might experience.

I work with individuals who struggle with PTSD and the affects of trauma, as well as depression, anxiety, stress, relationship and attachment difficulties, and much more. Since beginning therapy can be frightening for many, I like everyone I work with to know that we always will begin where you are at. We will work together to find a pace in therapy that feels right for you. Together we may work on building your ability to utilize coping skills, navigate emotions, navigate triggers, and much more.

Jenae Lindsey

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and the founder of Desert Bloom Recovery. I graduated with my Masters from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. I am a CSAT (Certified Sexual Addiction Therapist), EMDR trained, mindfulness trained, yoga certified, EFT, and Parts and Memory trained. I am also a Deceptive Sexuality and Trauma Therapist.

Much of my work includes women who have experienced betrayal trauma as well as those battling anxiety, depression and other complex trauma. If you have experienced trauma from sexual betrayal, please know that you are not alone and that healing is possible.

In your work with me, we will explore increasing your capacity heal from triggers, deepen your sense of self worth, process past trauma, set healthy and safe boundaries for yourself and your relationships, and learn to reach out and connect. I care deeply for my clients and hope the absolute best for their healing.

Additionally, I have advanced training and experience in helping those struggling with sexually compulsive behaviors. You matter and it's possible to learn to choose nurturing over numbing. Reaching out is a hugely important step.

It takes great courage to begin this process, but I know that change, growth, and healing are all possible.

She is active in her faith community and loves connecting with clients from a variety of Christian faiths.  Having walked the road of betrayal trauma healing herself, Laura knows the pain and heaviness of this space and assures her clients of the light, hope, and happiness ahead.

Betrayal Trauma Coach

Maren Simmons

My passion for supporting women has led me to become a Betrayal Trauma Coach in group and individual settings as I finish my undergraduate degree. I am currently a student at UNLV finishing my Bachelors degree in Psychology with a minor in Family Studies. Once that is complete, I will advance to the Marriage and Family Therapy program for my Masters so I can become a therapist, specializing in addiction and betrayal trauma.

I know what it is like to begin the healing process. I know it can be scary and feel overwhelming. I also know that with the right support, you will be able to learn healthy ways to grow, cope, and progress and truly believe that you are stronger than you ever thought possible.

When I am not working or doing school, I enjoy having dance parties with my husband and kids, reading as many books as possible, and spending time in nature with my family or friends. I can honestly say that doing my own recovery work has made it possible for me to show up more authentically in all my relationships, and have the tools to help me through the rough patches that life throws at me.

EMDR Therapist

Dr. Rachel Augustus

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist practicing in both Utah (in person and teletherapy) and Nevada (teletherapy only). My approach to therapy is gentle AND direct. I will listen to and support you AND also challenge and push you.

I have a PhD in Marriage, Family and Human Development and my dissertation research was on couple communication about pornography. I've received specialized training and have worked extensively with problematic seuxal beahviors, such as out of control pornography use and infidelity. I also do a great deal of work around relational or betrayal trauma. I have experience with traditional mental health concerns such as depression, anxiety, or abuse; couples issues such as communication and intimacy; and broader life struggles such as faith transitions, body image and grief.

I have advanced training in EMDR and EFT. I also use Narrative, CBT and DBT therapy approaches in my work. In addition to my work as a clinician, I also supervise therapists who are working on the process of full licensure and am an adjunct professor at Utah Valley University and Utah Tech University.

I grew up on a farm in Idaho where the motto was “work hard and then play hard”.  I try my best to live that every day, so when I'm not working, you'll find me with my nose in a book, on a drive with my husband, going to water aerobics class, hiking a new trail with my sisters or counting down the days until my next Lake Powell trip.
